Spring Signup Information

Hartford parents, it’s that time of the year again! A new year has arrived, and the weather outside lets us know winter is here, but we promise you that the spring sports season is right around the corner. That means signups for baseball, softball and T-Ball are on the way soon! It was an absolute joy to see all the familiar and new faces on the diamonds of our ballpark last spring and we are hoping for another great season in 2023! In 2022, more than 200 participants were involved in one of our spring sports, and we hoping to grow that number even further, because we know that our activities will feature plenty of excitement, fun, laughter and smiles for the youth of the communities that we are fortunate enough to serve.
As we have done in previous years, we will offer virtual registrations beginning on January 15th. The virtual registration link will be located on the top navigation bar on each page of our website under the ‘Virtual Registration’ section. A friendly reminder that the online process requires a parent or guardian to sign up for an account on our website; then, the account holder must fill-in their personal information (parents / guardians may also fill-in information for a co-account holder if they so choose – that may be another parent or guardian or an emergency contact), add your participants, type in the answers to our required registration form questions (like you would in-person), and sign them up. It’s easy, fast and secure – and saves you a trip!
If you choose the virtual registration process, it will make it easier to sign up for our sports in future seasons and subsequent years. How? The system automatically calculates your participants age, and places them in the correct division that fits their age group. And, as we mentioned before, we use the same registration system for our other sports seasons, so that will allow you to choose the proper team placements for fall (cheerleading and football) and winter (basketball). Finally, the information carries over year-to-year, meaning all that the parent / guardian will have to do in the fall, winter or the 2024 spring season is to select the proper division, fill out the yearly registration form and submit the payment to complete the process. The only information that an account holder may have to change would be in their profile settings; our opinion is to check and make sure that your information, and your participants information, is current, or make any necessary changes that have occurred since the last registration period (including changes in an address or phone number, for example).
If you are in need of any assistance for our virtual registration process, please be sure to reach out to us, and we would be happy to lend our hand to get you on the right track.
If virtual registrations are not your thing, the Hartford Council for Recreation is planning on hosting at-least a couple of in-person signup periods (in January and February) to get everyone we can signed up for our sports programs this spring. Dates, locations and times are still being determined, and will be subject to change at any time. We encourage everyone to stay tuned to our website and social media channels for the latest updates in the coming weeks.
All signups, including virtual registrations, will close around March 1st. This is to ensure ample time for teams to be drafted and for jerseys to be made for our players before the season begins in the first week of May. The only exceptions to this rule will be made for additional T-Ball players who wish to participate this year, or for divisions that may require additional players to fill or create another team. No signups will be allowed without payment this year, unless you have made a payment arrangement with an official from our organization. If you may require financial assistance, please speak with us, and we will do our best to help you to the best of our ability.
As many people know, balls, equipment, insurance, jerseys and more, are getting more costly due to circumstances out of our control. Our organization has had to make an adjustment to the cost ladder to make sure that we combat rising costs, without having to make unnecessary decisions that may impact player health and safety. Fees for baseball, softball and T-Ball for the 2023 season will be as follows:

T-Ball: $50.00
One Participant: $90.00
Two Participants: $140.00
Three Participants: $170.00
Each Participant (after the third participant): $25.00 per participant

We are looking forward to seeing everyone for signups very soon! Our organization is extremely thankful to every one of our loyal families for your continued support of our educational sports programs. Without all of you, nothing we achieve would be possible. To say we are excited for what’s to come this spring is an understatement. Let’s get ready to PLAY BALL!
