Baseball during the spring and summer in Hartford has become a long-standing tradition that that dates back years, and, in some cases, many generations. Throughout its very successful past, thousands of young athletes have crafted and mastered their skills on the diamonds of Indian Pride Park using the programs that the Hartford Council for Recreation created with the youth in mind. These young athletes play organized youth Baseball through our programs seeking victories on the playing field, but more importantly, these youth athletes are taught by coaches and volunteers about important life skills they can use long into the future after their playing days are over – skills like respecting others, honor, integrity and sportsmanship.
When you join our programs, you must know that the athlete in your family is in good hands. Players receive valuable knowledge about Baseball from coaches and volunteers that enjoy coaching our youth and working with their players, with the goal to make them better athletes on the field, but more importantly, better people in their communities off the field. In the end, our coaches encourage everyone to just have fun, because that is what youth sports should always be about!
This season promises to be another action-packed year full of competition, fun, joy and laughter for not only the players themselves, but also for the coaches that volunteer and the families, friends and loyal fans that turn out to support their favorite team, many of whom love the game of Baseball. We invite everyone to join us this season and learn why the fields of Indian Pride Park are known for not only building winners on the field, but also fabulous young people in our community, as well.
