Softball in the spring and summer at Indian Pride Park is a long-standing tradition that dates back years, and in some cases, many generations. Throughout its storied and successful past, thousands of young ladies have crafted their skills on the diamonds that dot Hartford’s southern landscape. Sure, every young lady who plays the game dreams about being victorious and becoming a champion. But the programs the Hartford Council for Recreation created with our youth in mind isn’t always just about victories. For most, it’s not about the wins or losses, but more about the lifelong lessons you learn – leadership, respect and sportsmanship; three such qualities needed for young ladies as they head into the next chapter of their lives.
When you join our programs, please know that the athlete in your family will be in good hands. Players receive valuable knowledge about Softball from coaches and volunteers that enjoy coaching our youth and working with their players, with the goal to make them better athletes on the field, but more importantly, better people in their communities off the field. In the end, our coaches encourage everyone to just have fun, because that is what youth sports should always be about!
This season promises to be another action-packed year full of great competition, excitement and fun in Hartford. This is especially true for every player, coach, family member and loyal fan that show up and support their favorite team and love the sport of Softball. We invite everyone to join us this season and learn why the fields of Indian Pride Park are known for not only building winners on the field, but also fabulous young people in our community, as well.
