Football during the fall in Hartford is a long-standing tradition that continues to build, grow and prosper every year. Through its very successful history, hundreds of young athletes have crafted their skills using the Flag Football, Junior Rocket Football and Senior Rocket Football programs the Hartford Council for Recreation created with the youth of our community in mind. The teams we put on the field every weekend during the season compete with teams from other communities and try to win games, but they are also taught even more important lessons, like dedication, hard work, playing in the spirit of fair play and the ultimate goal at the end of the day, sportsmanship. After all, showing sportsmanship is the responsible thing to do, win or lose.
When you join our programs, you must know that the athlete in your family is in good hands. In addition to the fun participants are sure to have, players also receive valuable knowledge about Football from coaches and volunteers who enjoy coaching our youth and working with their players to make them better on the field, and more importantly, better off the field. In the end, our coaches encourage everyone to just play their best, because that is what youth sports should always be about!
This season promises to feature another action-packed year full of excitement for everyone involved. With everything we mentioned above in mind, what are some more allures of playing Football? Football players get the opportunity to compete against neighboring communities and forge friendly rivalries of their own. In addition, players get to play home games inside Indian Stadium, home of the 1993 Class CC State Champion Hartford Indians. This gives players an incredible and unique opportunity to experience a small taste of playing Football on the “big stage” throughout the fall. So, as you can see, if you have a child that is eager to participate in a sport during the fall and is interested in physical activity, look no further than our Football programs!
