The Hartford Council for Recreation and the grounds of Indian Pride Park are located at 130 Lincoln Street in Hartford, Michigan. Our facilities are located approximately one mile north of Interstate 94 at exit 46 and are located at the intersection of Lincoln, East and Reynolds Streets in the downtown area. The location of our facilities allows us to be centralized completely within the city of Hartford and our grounds are open year-round for sport-specific use by our organization.
Our facility includes four fields for our older participants, with three fields serving as ‘hybrids’, allowing us to play our spring sports (baseball and softball) while utilizing the same fields. We also have a T-Ball specific field, which is dedicated to growing and teaching the game to our younger athletes during the spring sports season. Our concession stand, picnic seating area and restroom facilities, built over a decade ago, thanks to the donations, hard work and support from throughout the community, is one of the largest in the area. In recent years, two large pavilions have been built on the grounds, which allow people the opportunity to bring-in their lawn chairs and sit in the shade during those hot summer days we get in Pure Michigan. And the hope is that more changes and upgrades will occur in the years ahead to continue making our facility one of the best in southwest Michigan.
The grounds are property of Hartford Public Schools and are operated under a lease agreement between our organization and the school district. This means that all federal, state and local laws that are applied on school property will be enforced at our facilities. There are signs located at both entrances (off Lincoln Street and at Redwood Elementary) that tells you what you can, or can’t, do within the confines of our property.
